In honor of August being my birth month, I thought we should have a little contest and give something away. Send me a note either in the comments below or a email and tell me what you think it is. The first one to answer correctly will get to pick either the red one or blue one and we will ship it to you as a birthday gift from me. If no one guessing correctly by Friday the 19th, I will place everyone who participant's name in a drawing. I will announce the winning name by the end of the day Friday. If someone answers correctly before Friday the contest will end and I will reveal the answer as well as the winners name.
One is 4 inches long and the other is about 4-1/4 inches long.......they are made out of dymondwoods. No, its not some strange new lipstick.......it is a tool but not necessarily a spinners tool. That is all the clues you get from me.....
You can click on the photo to enlarge it.......What is it!??

Is it a nostepinne?
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful! Could they be seam pressers?
ReplyDeleteAnd Happy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe a threader with a protective cover? Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThey look like nostepinnes to me!
ReplyDeleteHappy HAPPY Birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it might be a combination tool...Nostepinne, wrist distaff...that knitters, weavers or quilters can use to hold their sewing,or darning needles inside. If that beautiful little piece comes out, I wouldn't doubt that you even put a threader on the inside ;)
I would guess that this tool is a needle holder and threader. I've just caught up with all the blog entries I've missed. Busy summer!! I placed my feedback on the Etsy site. Realized that I own 14 spindles! I also purchased fiber. I'd say that indicates a satisfied customer. Hope my family never finds out!!
ReplyDeleteI won't tell your family...my lips are sealed. =+}
ReplyDeleteThank You Pam and all of you for the Birthday Wishes...had a nice day!
psst...no one had guessed it yet.....but Dale does like some of the ideas you are giving him. ;]

I haven't got a clue, maybe some mysterious row counter for knitting?
ReplyDeleteI'd attach one of them to my keyring, because they are so pretty!
Oh zut! it's not easy for me to participate to the game because of my bad english... but I'll try, I need a present for my birthday too! (in september)
ReplyDeleteI think it's a hook, or something like that, to thread the yarns!
Anyway, I think it's a case (a hook case, I hope it's the right word... and the right object!)
Bye! And thanks for my tiny "timberland": only one week to arrive in France!
They look like bobbins for making bobbin lace to me.
ReplyDeleteFelting needle case, they could be bobbin lace bobbins, heck they could even be yarn gauges! Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI would love it if they held tiny crochet hooks for bead knitting or knit repair inside, or even a seam ripper. More ideas for Dale, I already guessed once, above. :)
